Despite surfing’s treehugging image, some pretty nasty chemicals have been used in surfboard manufacturing in the past - but this all may change.
Made from agave plants that grow in the Southern Californian deserts, this single fin surfboard made by Linden Surfboards is sustainable, durable and most importantly, it kicks arse in the water. Being much lighter than traditional wood, agave is a viable alternative for those who can’t stomach those heavy wood boards but don’t want to go fucking up mother earth with petro-chemicals.
The phrase have your cake and eat it springs to mind!
