Animal Collective x Keep shoes
Strange footwear collaboration arriving complete with a tape of unheard tracks.
Psychedelic pop group Animal Collective have teamed up with the clothing company Keep to create their own line of shoes.
Each band member has designed their own signature pair with the first to be released, The Tobin, illustrated by lead singer Avey Tare.
All profits made from the shoes are being donated to the Socorro Island Conservation Fund, a non-profit organisation that works to preserve the unique biosphere of the Revillagigedo Archipelago off the coast of Baja California, Mexico.
The band were inspired to preserve the archipelago's ecosystem following a scuba diving trip to the region in 2007.
Although the range won't be on general release until March 2011, pre-orders of the shoes will include a tape cassette (yes, a cassette!) of previously unreleased material.
