Tony Hawk Show in Brighton
Skate spectacle hits London-on-Sea.
The Tony Hawk and Friends Show hit Brighton last night.
Tony Hawk was joined by Kevin Staab, Sandro Dias and Jesse Fritsch for a display of skate theatrics by the beach, all given a running comemntary from the gravel tones of old school skater Dave Duncan.
Says Hawk of the show: "I don't think that the presentation we have makes [skateboarding] inaccessible. If anything, it gives it a chance to be seen live and on a professional level to people who may have never been exposed to it. We're promoting the sport and getting more people into it by doing shows on this scale. The people who are more into the underground, hardcore side of skating will always have that and could care less about what we do. I feel skating is so diverse and so big that it has all these factions. That doesn't change what we do. It makes us strive to do it better because we don't have to make a living doing something else."
And here's our small snapshot of what went down...
