Volcom have released this behind-the-scenes video of former Eddie Aikau Invitational champion Bruce Irons at the event last year.
Bruce lost his 2004 title to Greg Long in December but still scored some incredible waves and came in an impressive fourth.
The waves reached heights of over 40ft at Waimea allowing the event to take place for the first time in five years.
