Burton Aussie Open set to kick off
Burton Australian Open Snowboarding Championships bring world-class riding talent to the Perisher Blue resort in Australia.
The comp is set to kick off September 2nd and run until September 5th. Qualifiers from the first two days of the event will be competing in the semi-finals and finals in the hopes of claiming the Open title and a share of the AUD$50,000 prize money.

Top riders are set to compete at the Open including the likes of Kevin Pearce (USA), current TTR World No.1 Chas Guldemond (USA) and Mikkel Bang (NOR), who took first in the men’s slopestyle comp at the New Zealand Open.
Competition will be equally as strong in the women’s field too; with Olympic gold medalist Hannah Teter (USA) and women’s 07/08 Swatch TTR World Snowboard Tour Champion and X-Games slopestyle gold medalist Jamie Anderson (USA) hoping to pass through the Open’s qualifying rounds. Jamie Anderson currently leads both TTR and BGOS women’s rankings after her first place finishes in both halfpipe and slopestyle at the New Zealand Open earlier this month.

As most of us won’t be able to jump on a plane to Aussie to check it all out, the semi-finals and finals will be live on Go211.com, along with webcasts and highlights of the whole comp once the event is over. To get into the spirit of things before the comp gets underway, the highlights from this month’s Burton New Zealand open are also available at Go211.com.
