O'Neill have just released a video from day one of the Cold Water Classic Thurso 2011.
The rugged 6-star ASP surf contest got underway on April 14 with some perfect barrels, offshore wind and customary rain and hail storms.
It saw the likes of Charley Martin, Dion Atkinson and Micah Lester compete in the first round of heats, that will whittle down the 96 competitors to 48.
Says Charley: “I got a few barrels and really enjoyed it even though it’s hard in all this wetsuit. [...] I came to this contest two years ago and it was a completely different wave – windy and messy. I’m not the biggest fan of surfing in cold water but this wave is so good right now that it’s worth it for sure!”
