Cold Water Classic hits Vancouver
The world's most wild surf contest comes to British Columbia.
The O'Neill Cold Water Classic comes to the shores of Vancouver Island, BC from October 25 - 31.
This 6 Star WQS event will see 144 surfers battle against rain, sleet and bleak surf of the North Pacific.
“It’s not uncommon to paddle out in incessant sleet rain, which feels like sand-paper against any part of your skin which isn’t covered by 6mm of rubber,” says event ambassador and local Tofino surfer Noah Cohen. “But it’s worth it, because what you get is uncrowded waves, some of the most spectacular scenery in which you will ever surf and often perfect beach and reef breaks.”
Blake Thornton is currently leading the CWC Series following his win in Cape Town and 3rd place finish in Scotland. Jarrad Howse sits in second and rounding off the all-Australian top three is the CWC Scotland winner Adam Melling.
