Field Day returns
Field Day returns to Victoria Park, east London on July 31 for its fourth year hosting all manner of new – and not so new – music.
Headlined by Phoenix – riding on the crest of a Grammy nomination-shaped wave – this year's line-up caters for just about everybody.
Caribou, Moderat and Memory Tapes bring the electronica, Joker and MC Nomad the dubstep, while Beth Jeans Houghton has got the folk angle covered.
But the main event, for us at least, will be when No Age showcase the next evolutionary step in their punk-fuelled arc. With a new album on the horizon, we know it's gonna be good.
The fresh feel to the line-up is emphasised by the introduction of the XOYO New Music tent, showcasing the likes of Walls and Toro Y Moi.
Over on the Eat Your Own Ears stage there is still room for post-punk legends The Fall, going strong after more than thirty years. Despite about a thousand personnel changes in that time you’ll still find Mark E. Smith leading from the front.
With loads more acts filling in the logical (and illogical) gaps this is probably the best Field Day line-up yet...
