‘Fighting HIV by Riding Waves’ video

Surf non-profit organisation Isiqalo Foundation have just released a new video, Fighting HIV by Riding Waves.

It shows Isiqalo's Waves for Change programme in action, using surfing as a 'metaphor for life' to educate young people about HIV.

Established by HUCK columnist Tim Conibear, the foundation works in the Masiphumelele Township in Cape Town, South Africa.

Says Conibear: "In all our programs, we aim to encourage creativity and a freedom of expression, as well as promoting a sense of greater responsibility and proaction. [...] By helping participants realise their hidden potential, by introducing them to something as foreign as surfing and showing them they can not only survive but excel, we can in turn encourage them to see how much fun life can be if you take a little time to consider the choices in front of you."

To donate to this very worthwhile cause, visit the Isiqalo website.
