A Fly In The Champagne: Kelly Slater vs. Andy Irons the movie
Who'd have thunk it: surfing's biggest rivals - an antagonism running deep, both in and out of the water - have made a film together. But there's no white flags just yet: rather, for A Fly In The Champagne, Kelly Slater and Andy Irons head to the remote Mentawai Island of Kandui to have their intense feud dissected and documented, as they surf epic waves.
Produced by Irons Brothers Productions and Sal Masakela, the flick compares the pair's long history and contrasting personalities, captured by top cinematographers. Plus, as hoped, it also includes insane footage as surfing's most famous feud explodes in the Indian Ocean.
Ok, so A Fly In The Champagne, out March 15, is one big advert for Quiksilver and Billabong (the pair's main sponsors) plus a coup for Transworld Surf (who've exclusive distribution rights). But, despite the hype, with Slater and Irons starring, you're guaranteed incredible surfing, in addition to astute analysis.
