Joel Parkinson has collaborated with Flying Pineapple media to release a book about his life, his friends and surfing, available in Australia, February 18.
There are hundreds of photos from locations like Hawaii, J-Bay and Angourie in the coffee table-style monograph as well as an eclectic bunch of voices including Andy Irons, Mark Occhilupo and Mick Fanning.
Says Parko: "I wanted to do a book that wasn’t all about me. I wanted a book that was going to capture the people and places I go… When you travel and stay with friends in other places around the world for long enough, it goes beyond having a roof over your head, you actually become family to these guys and vice versa... Surfing’s just got that power to bring people together."
