We delve into the HUCK archives to revisit our feature on photographer Niall O'Brien's project on New Age punks, Good Rats.
Says O'Brien: "They make this huge statement but they don’t intend to, it’s almost an anti-statement. You look at them and you think fashion, hair, jackets but they’ve been wearing those same jackets for the past three years, it’s their uniform. In that respect it’s not fashion, it’s the same thing every day. They don’t get up and figure out what studded belt they’re going to wear, it’s so unconscious."
