Hotly tipped Canadian duo are courting a crowd
Band of the moment, Crystal Castles, will be testing the structural integrity of Avalanche records in Glasgow for a free instore this Saturday.
Currently to be seen at venues across the UK on the NME New Noise Tour (along with UK glowstick noise mongers, Friendly Fires), the Canadian duo are hotly tipped by people who know to be the next big thing.
Their sound veers more towards the dark side of the current crop of talent, with influences such as New Order, Velvet Underground and the 8-bit Nintendo composers Yoshihiro Sakaguchi and Koji Kondo. They’ve also been prolific remixers, twiddling the knobs for Liars, Klaxons and Uffie.
Well worth a look if you’re in Glasgow this Saturday, not least because their current dates are all sold out. If you need further convincing check out the excellent shadowy video below for ‘Courtship Dating’ (Dir. Marc Pannozzo).

they do not support and they even abuse the Creative Commons license that Trent Reznor is so giddy about in suddenly his old age…he contradicts himself by allowing them on tour with him.
It sounds like they just misunderstood what ‘creative commons’ licenses mean. Easy mistake to make…don’t go disrespecting them!
