HUCK#015 – The Soundtrack
Listen to the music that helped shape our latest issue.
A month or so ago, we received some amazing shots of dogs leaping in the air from photographer Josh Cole dubbed Pitbull Ballet. So what better song to kick off the playlist than Tchaikovsky's Nutcracker?
As we have an exclusive interview with Yeah Yeah Yeahs, we've included the excellent Soft Shock from their new album It's Blitz.
Mass Appeal by Gang Starr was the inspiration for the Mathieu Crépel interview as was Bruce Springsteen's Born in the USA for our Gaslight Anthem (pictured) feature (but we also threw in their song Casanova, Baby! for good measure!).
Alex Wade's feature on surf photographer Tony Plant nods to the classic Guinness Surfer ad that features Leftfield's Phat Planet and Deftones' angst-ridden Kimdracula chimes nicely with our closing short story about the end of the snow season.
There's also Quicksand by La Roux from our lead music review, Mojave 3's Got my Sunshine that appears in Thomas Campbell's surf film Sprout and I Love College by Asher Roth just for the hell of it.
Enjoy!
