‘I Love Japan’ video
The Land of the Rising Sun captured in all its hectic splendour.
Filmmaker Nicolas Damen has recently released this stunning time-lapse video, I Love Japan.
It sees the buzzing metropolis' of Tokyo, Kyoto and Osaka as well as the snowy resort of Gala Yuzawa all captured in all their glory.
It also uses the tilt-shift technique to make the buildings look like an architect's model, the cars look like toys and the people like ants!
Says Damen: "The shot of the famous busy Shinjuku intersection was actually shot from Starbucks Coffee. There were no photo signs everywhere as the whole window was a perfect viewing point night and day of the crazy intersection. So I got a coffee and waited around 20 minutes to get a seat in front of the window. I then sneakily set my camera up under my chair and put my jacket over it while I drank my coffee really slow."
It was the product of extra footage gathered by Damen while shooting his recent short film, Written in Dream.
