It’s a Plastic Fantastic Ocean
Following the recent 30min challenge the BBC set up on Midway in the Pacific, seeing how much waste they could gather up in that time, VBS.tv have filmed a series called Toxic - Garbage Island.
Whilst not keen to stir up my colleagues by highlighting something good from the V*c* machine, this series of short films is, at times, an engaging insight into how 20-somethings react to the vastness of the ocean and the plastic remains therein.
There are 12 or so films - the end Extra bit provides the science amongst the vagueness of youth whilst no. 9 is the real meat in the sandwich. VBS.tv also has an excellent surf show called Hi Shredability, in particular films on Dan Malloy and Mark Cunningham. Here’s the link to the BBC thing too.
Plastic is a killer, a potential species-altering catalyst - you heard it here last.
