Jacob Sutton ‘L.E.D. Surfer’ video
Sparkling snowboarder lights up the midnight slopes.
Fashion website Nowness have released a slow-motion short film by filmmaker and fashion photographer Jacob Sutton that features a glowing Will Hughes carving through the nighttime snow in Tignes.
The British snowboarder, who's sponsored by Artec, wears a special L.E.D.-covered suit designed by John Spatcher for the video, which was shot over three nights on a Red Epic camera at temperatures of -25°C.
Says Sutton: “I was really drawn to the idea of a lone character made of light surfing through darkness... I've always been excited by unusual ways of lighting things, so it seemed like an exciting idea to make the subject of the film the only light source.”
Hughes adds: “Filming in the suit was the most surreal thing I’ve done in 20 years of snowboarding... Luckily there was plenty of vin rouge to keep me warm, and Jacob’s enthusiasm kept everyone going through the cold nights.”
