Jake Burton

We delve into the HUCK archives to revisit our feature on snowboard pioneer Jake Burton.

Says Burton: "As a young kid I skied but I never had an opportunity to surf. The concept of surfing always appealed to me – it was something I always wanted to do, but it just never happened. Then a product called the Snurfer came out and it cost less than $10. All of my friends and I bought them, and even though I was only fourteen years old, the minute I got on a Snurfer and rode it I knew there was a sport there."

Check out the full feature in HUCK#010 in our Digital Archive.
