‘Mr Surf Junk’ online museum

A new virtual surf history museum called Mr Surf Junk has just been launched.

The website exhibits a huge amount of surf memorabilia from the 1960s onwards covering everything from vintage magazines, posters and contest programmes to toys, records and comics.

Says the website's creator Tom Brown: "Mr Surf Junk is my opportunity to give back to the surfing community in a way that helps preserve our surfing history. The items found in the museum are artifacts which I have collected over the years from my early childhood days as a young boy surfing the frigid waters of Santa Cruz.”

Here's just some of the gems you can find:

  • This site is awsome! There is certainly a lot of history behind this "junk". I can just imagine the stories behind some of those surf movies, contests, & the hours dreaming while reading those old magazines. Thanks for sharing!
