La La Land: Part five
As street artist HUSH hits the loco land of LA for his first solo show Stateside, King Adz joins him to document the ride.
Things have gone to shit — madness off the scale for some English bloke deep deep in LA — and I'm sat here in some dodgy internet cafe typing up today's report...
I spent the day driving a friend who's a stripper around the suburbs of outer LA from one private job to another just for the material... She would get a txt message of an address and off we'd go. Thank fuck for TomTom...Thank fuck for TinTin...

The Pro-Surfer Stripper killing it out there...on land and sea
On the way to the jobs she tells me some horrendous stories of other dancers being drugged and then having the most horrendous things done to them. This fucking did my head in as she didn't know the people she was about to 'dance' for (over here a stripper is called a dancer). and there was me sat outside these mad suburbs waiting for her to come out an hour later... It turns out that she is about to shoot a reality TV show about her life — when she is not ‘working’, she is a pro-surfer... crazy shit, crazy lives. All gold for a writer...
But it turned out cool and then HUSH’s show opened and it was the bomb. The place looked amazing and his giant mural was killer. I arranged to get Ron Jeremy down and just when the place was heaving he rocked up and we shot some mad footage... The Seventh Letter Crew turned up and HUSH is painting a giant illegal street piece with them tomorrow in Venice beach... My uncle strolled in with the DP of Iron Man and all the wannabe actresses were all over them like proverbial flies...
Welcome to La La Land. Welcome to the madness...
