Eka – making knitwear cool
When I’m not writing or taking pictures I work in a Fairtrade shop in Glasgow called the One World Shop where I’m currently trying to get Eka knitwear in stock because it’s way better than anything your gran can make.
Designed by pro snowboarder Gilly Seagrave Eka items are not only stylish, they are practical enough for a days riding. An added bonus is that all Eka items are Fairtrade, cotton items are organic, and the company are working towards being 100% vegan by 2010.
Gilly has hand picked some awesome colours and styles for this coming season, including ‘plum’ and ‘petrol blue’ slouchy beanies for the girls, and Sailor Jerry inspired watchcaps for the boys in Gilly’s favorite ‘wine red’.
Eka can be found in a few shops but you can check out and buy the full range at www.ekawear.com/eka/. Also Gilly Seagrave's Ekawear blog is highly recommended reading.
