Ryan McGinley has shot a series of photographs featuring Winter Olympians entitled Highfliers for the New York Times Magazine.
The New York-based high art photographer has taken his dreamy, muted colour approach and applied it to traditional sports photography for an atmospheric effect.
Snowboarders featured include Kelly Clark, Shaun White, Hannah Teter and Louie Vito.
He also directed a psychedelic video The Lightness Of Being An Olympian with footage from the Winter Olympics 2010 that you can watch on his website.
