National Geographic photo contest 2010

National Geographic magazine has recently launched its annual photo contest celebrating groundbreaking, poignant and beautiful images

The contest's categories include People, Place and Nature and will be judged on their "creativity and photographic quality".

The deadline for submissions is November 30 and a selection of images will be published in the magazine with the overall winner getting $10,000 USD.

You can browse galleries of shortlisted entries so far on their website and even download jigsaw puzzles of previous entries.
