O’Neill Big Mountain Pro takes off this weekend
Snow and helicopters... can I have some of that, please?
Sure. The impossibly hi-tech, post-industrial, and absolutely-next-level Swatch O’Neill Big Mountain Pro takes off this Sunday with a world-class competitor line up for the landmark mobile snowboard and freeride skiing event.
So who are you likely to find flying helicopters, champagne in hand no doubt, across the Alps? Here’s a taste of the talent on hand: Big-mountain hero Jeremy Jones, freestyle freaks Stefan Gimpl, David Benedek, Frederik Kalbermatten and more. They will all have their work cut out to beat last year's winner Xavier de le Rue, who currently sits fourth on the FWT rankings.
With six regional guides keeping an eye on all the best terrain and snow conditions that the Alps has to offer, the two VIP buses are ready to set off with no restrictions throughout the mountains. Helicopters and lift access will provide access to wherever conditions prove best.
Kick off is scheduled for Sunday with a freestyle session at Montenvers, at the end of La Vallee Blanche, courtesy of local shaper and snowboarder Douds Charlet.
A live webcast of the event can be seen every day of the event from February 24th until March 1st between 14.00h and 16.00h.
