O’Neill Cold Water Classic Day 5
Tofino boy Peter Devries is turning into a bit of a local celebrity as he soars through his heats into the round of 16 at the O'Neill Cold Water Classic Canada.
Devries has been impressing onlookers with aerial moves and finished second in his heat behind Irish surfer, Glenn Hall.
Others to make it into the round of 16 included Dusty Payne, Cory Lopez and Mark Mathews and despite the staggering cold and unpredictable surfing conditions, the surfers seem to be 'warming' the Canadian surf scene.
Says Mathews: "Sitting out the back is incredible. Looking back at the dense forests lining the beach and the mountains in the backdrop, it's amazing."
