Oxbow team hit Jaws
When this decade's biggest swell hit Hawaii, the Oxbow surf team took the legendary break of Jaws in Maui to charge some monumental waves.
Surfers including Laird Hamilton, Kai Lenny and Jason Polakow took to the water flanked by five helicopters, two aeroplanes, thirty jet skis and fives boats.
However success was mixed with Polakow falling and disappearing underwater for over a minute and was blocked by three successive waves. “I don’t understand why I’m still alive, I saw myself dying,” he said afterwards.
According to Hamilton, Jason is the only living person to take three successive waves like this and live to tell the tale.
