‘Party at the Pumps 2′ oil protest
Campaigners stand up against unethical oil production.
Activist groups No Tar Sands and Rising Tide UK have organised a protest against Shell's oil production methods in London on May 15 - just three days before the company's AGM.
As well as the horrendous oil production in the Niger Delta, where locals have been forced to drink contaminated water and eat contaminated crops often resulting in rare forms of cancer and other degenerative diseases, Shell have outlined a new plan for offshore drilling in Alaska.
The plan has been met with a lot of scrutiny following the Deepwater Horizon oil spill in the Gulf of Mexico recently and activists are encouraging people to hold Shell to account before decisions are made at the annual AGM.
As well as attending the protest this weekend, which meets at 1pm at Oxford Circus, London, you can sign a petition on Avaaz.org to stop the development of offshore drilling.
