Patagonia x Chris Malloy film
Short environmental documentary about the plight of the steelhead rainbow trout of California.
Patagonia have just released a short film shot by Chris Malloy and Jason Baffa profiling on conservation biologist Matt Stoecker.
The film looks at Stoeker's work, mainly focusing around restoring the population of steelhead rainbow trout in the rivers of California.
Through their migration upstream to spawn, this species helps return vital nutrients to the river ecosystems in the mountains. However, the building of dams and overfishing have resulted in only around an estimated 500 fish still returning to spawn.
Through his work, Stoeker is striving to recitfy that.
The film is part of a series of short films about people who do what they love for a living called preOccupations.
You can watch the film in Patagonia's Fall 2010 Catalogue.
