Patagonia Common Threads Initiative
A new partnership asking people to consume less.
Patagonia have just launched a new environmental awareness campaign, Common Threads Initiative.
The project concentrates on the five Rs of Reduce, Repair, Reuse, Recycle and Reimagine, and looks to work with their customers to reduce their environmental impact.
Says Patagonia founder Yvon Chouinard: "This initiative first asks customers to not buy something if they don’t need it. If they do need it, we ask that they buy what will last a long time – and to repair what breaks, reuse or resell whatever they don’t wear any more. And, finally, recycle whatever’s truly worn out."
Patagonia are aiming to get 50,000 people taking a pledge to live by this wisdom.
