Plastics 2020 beach litter campaign
The Plastics 2020 Challenge has announced a new initiative with the support of The Marine Conservation Society to tackle the problem of rubbish in the seas.
A public debate has been launched on the Plastics 2020 Challenge website for people to discuss the problems of beach litter and suggest possible solutions.
Says Peter Davis from the Plastics 2020 Challenge: “Waste, whether plastic or other, does not belong in the sea. Litter is primarily a result of human neglect and poor waste management and if we all acted responsibly there would be no reason for the large majority of it to be there. We will be approaching the Government to discuss our research and the responses to the public debate.”
