The Plastiki sets sail
Plastic bottle boat on voyage to highlight marine litter.
The Plastiki, a yacht made out of 12,000 plastic bottles, has set sail on the ultimate adventure to highlight the problem of marine litter.
The crew of six, including environmentalist David de Rothschild and skipper Jo Royle, set sail from San Francisco Bay on March 20 en route to Sydney.
The Plastiki will be spending the next 100 days sailing across the Pacific and highlighting the issue of marine litter and its impact on marine life.
You can follow the trip and find out more about the boat, the crew and their mission on the Plastiki website.
Check out our exclusive interview with Jo Royle in HUCK#016.
