BMX and bass from Queens, NY

Made in Queens is a documentary that invites us to admire the world of customised BMXs which carry Herculean sound systems.

Directed by Nicolas Randall and Joe Stevens, the movie looks into the lives of a small crew of teenagers originally from Trinidad & Tobago, now whom reside in Queens, that are largely preoccupied with making their bikes sound like a lyrical freight train.

Quite astonishingly, 'Basszilla' which began life as a humble shop built Mongoose, boasts four 16 volt car batteries which help to fire up four 15" bass speakers, two 6.5" mids, two 6x9" mids, two 3000 watt bass amps and a 2000 watt mids amp.

It also has a DVD touch screen with navigation and equalizer mounted on the handlebars...

So next time your in the neighbourhood (or one close by) and hear Shabba Ranks 'Wicked Inna Bed' it's probably just Travis Bhimraj on his mongoose on the way to pick up some milk.
