Leo Romero is Skater Of The Year 2010
Thrasher Magazine's highest accolade finds a worthy recipient.
Toy Machine's 'go big' American-Mexican skater du jour, Leo Romero, won Thrasher Magazine's coveted Skater Of The Year title yesterday, November 23.
Previous winners include Tony Hawk, John Cardiel and Danny Way and according to Phelps the decision to award Romero was a no-brainer following his killer sessions in Emerica's Stay Gold and Toy Machine's Brainwash.
But Romero is pretty much bewildered by the whole thing: "I'm not that excited or surprised. I didn't really think about it. I tried to block it; I don't like to think about things like that... When Jake came to my house and told me it was strange. I hate surprises, I feel vulnerable. I didn't know how to react so I shut down pretty much."
