A wave caught by Mark Healey and Shane Dorian at Waimea on Decemeber 7 is being considered, by some, to be the biggest wave ever paddled into, without the help of a jet ski.
The ride is being entered in the Billabong XXL Big Wave Awards, to be held in California in late April, in the 'Monster Paddle' category.
