Shaun White and Jenny Jones storm the Burton European Open Semis
The unstoppable Shaun White and Britain's own Jenny Jones earned top spots in the Burton European Open Slopestyle Semi-Finals yesterday.
Shaun pulled out his usual crowd-pleasing trickery with a winning run that went something like this; He stomped a frontside 270 front boardslide 270 out on the down box, half Cabbed the gap to a backside disaster on the skate quarter. On the snow quarter he pulled out a backside ally-oop rodeo 540 backside grab, followed by a massive 1080 stalefish and tied it all together with back-to-back 9's on the bottom two kickers.
Phew. Just a walk in the park when your name's Shaun White.
Earlier in the day, Jenny Jones stormed through with back-to-back 3's and a frontside 5 on the kickers, earning her the top spot next to Jamie Anderson (USA) and Silvia Mittermueller (GER). Not bad for a girl hailing from a mountain-free kingdom. Jamie, meanwhile, seriously held it down for the female contingency, sticking two 5's and a sick ally-oop hand plant to fakie on the quarter. Nice.
The TTR World Snowboard Tour is well under way. And, damn, are we hungry for more.
