Shepard Fairey offers a helping hand to Barack Obama

Mr Fairey's campaign is swiftly picking up momentum. His 'hope' and 'progress' propaganda posters to aid Mr Obama to take a seat in the White House are popping up left, right and centre (or should that be center?).

Obeygiant.com has already sold out of one edition of 'OBAMA progress' prints but fear not, the silkscreen hasn't even had time for lunch as in the drying racks there's an edition of 600 'OBAMA Hope' prints. Signed and numbered, these puppies are just waiting to be snapped up so revenue can be generated to print more posters to paste up in the places yet to hold primaries! Smart thinking!

They go on sale 02/14/08 (or should that be 14/02/08?), so if you're a little stuck for how to celebrate Valentine's Day, then woo them with one of these fine and highly current specimens. You know it makes sense.

I have two of the Obama Hope posters and want to know how I can get those signed.

Also, I volunteered at the Cincinnati, Ohio office in March and there was a poster of Senator Obama on the wall that looked very much like the Hope Poster. It has "Change We Can Believe In" at the bottom with a map and the name Ohio to the left of the portrait. I asked for the poster, and was told it would be on display at the celebration. Before I left the office, I took a picture of it, and a good thing I did because someone stole it from the restaurant. Is there anyway you would be able to research and determine if this is one of Mr. Fairey's posters. I have never seen another one like it.

Hey Ruby, thanks for the comment. I don't think Shepherd did any other posters for Obama other than the one above.

Could you upload the pic you took of the poster so we could check it out?

Actually Shepard Fairey is a Capitalist opportunist catering to elitists. Big money from the investments of a publisher and PR team have fostered media attention for his art. Hell, they now credit him as being the first artist to make street art and counter culture art mainstream. All I can say to that is SAMO.
