Sea Shepherd hooks up with Lush for sharks
Normally you can’t miss a publicity stunt in London. You either get it watching BBC Breakfast news, on the way in with Metro or on the way back out in the other freebies. Somehow this one passed me by.
The video below is artist Alice Newstead getting strung up with de-barbed shark hooks for 15 minutes in a Lush store on Regents Street. Arresting for anyone passing by, and in line with the kind of activity Sea Shepherd likes to get amongst.
“I am doing this because the demand for shark fin soup and other shark products is wiping out the shark population.” Unlike the 100 million sharks who are brutally slaughtered each year for their fins, Newstead commented further, “I will be left with scars, but the wounds will heal.”
