Spunky ethical streetwear
Bristol based streetwear brand Spunky are doing their part to promote ethical clothing by aiming to be the first UK Fairtrade Certified streetwear brand.
All of their t-shirts are made using 100% organic fairtrade cotton and the company is hoping get their entire range Fairtrade Certified by the end of the year.
Cotton crops account for over 25% of the world's use of pesticides and the World Health Organisation estimates that over 20,000 people die each year from accidental pesticide poisoning, with many more suffering acute long term poisoning.
One company cannot make a difference alone but hopefully this will encourage other labels in the UK to follow suit.
The designs ain't half bad either but surely they could have thought up a better name?
