The Stash comes to The Remarks

With summer in the city turning every Londoner into a bitching whine-bag, it's easy to dream of far off snowy lands free from sweat-filled saunas parading as public transport and shirtless pink men who feel the urge to give their beer bellies a good airing. (Told ya, bunch of whinging mardy-bums, the lot of us.)

But as if the urge weren't bad enough, Burton have just unveiled The Stash at The Remarkables in Queenstown, New Zealand. With a kilometre long run featuring natural playthings like rock wall-rides, log jibs, cliff drops and even a jibbable stone hut, there's enough to get your jib-hungry teeth stuck into - and still feel like you're having a truly 'organic' freestyle experience.

“The Stash in New Zealand paves the way for a new style of Stash that plays off of the rock and stone landscape, said Jeff Boliba, Global Resort Director at Burton. “The unique features and layout will stoke out riders from around the globe.”

And from around the globe they did come. The likes of Keegan Valaika, Mikkel Bang, Robett Hollis, Nick Brown, Juliane Bray and Shelly Gotlieb were all more than happy to christen the terrain at the opening this past Saturday.

“No two runs on The Stash are the same, every time you drop in you get a completely new riding experience,” says Boliba. “Jake and our team developed The Stash with The Remarkables because we have always shared the common goal of taking snowboarding to the next level.”

Hands up if you wish you were in NZ...
