Nike SB x Stevie Dread Blazers
Nike SB brings some Windy City style to their classic shoe.
Believe it or not, skateboarding and basketball share a common history. In the 1980s, many skaters adopted the Nike Blazer basketball sneaker as their weapon of choice. You see, basketball sneakers and skate shoes offered similar attributes; strong grips, durable ankle support and relative comfort, so the cross over seemed pretty natural.
The Blazer has been enjoying somewhat of a come back of late with Lance Mountain bringing out his signature Nike SB Blazers last year in homage to this historic connection.
The latest model in this trend you see before you is the Chicago Blazer made in collaboration with legendary Chicago skate Stevie "Dread" Snyder and with the city's flag providing the colour scheme. They will be officially launched at the end of the month.
Tasty, eh?
