Stoked: Big Air Edition

It's great to hear that the good people at Destineer have given the original Stoked a spruce up for the new season with Stoked: Big Air Edition.

Stoked was quite simply the best snowboard video game ever. Not only did it bring Skate-style analog stick controls to the genre and give you your own helicopter to go freeriding, it also featured a custom HUCK snowboard.

This updated version features two new mountains of Laax and K2, two new riders in the form of Gigi Ruff and Romain de Marchi, some new racing and park challenges, and the controls and visuals have been given a few tweaks too.

Yeah, you may think we are just hyping it cos HUCK appears in the game but seriously, this game is the shit!

Stoked: Big Air Edition is released exclusively for Xbox 360 on November 24.

  • I played this game at the guy's offices in Graz, Austria a few weeks ago with Nico & Brusti themselves - the visuals are incredible: geographically the attention to detail is phenomenal (even if the developers have had some artistic license with runs etc), the realism of the players is impressive and the music is great too.

They've also added details like a helicopter pilot at each location who drops nuggets of local information before the game, and has the exact right accent for the location - i.e. Swiss, Austrian, or, strangely, upper class British for the new Himalayas location.

All the kit is updated for the new season too - you can choose Wolle Nyvelt's signature Billabong kit, or Romain's YES snowboard for example - and the attention to detail is phenomenal. Best of all, the guys behind the game are snowboarders themselves who love everything about our 'sport' (dare I call it that!) and their passion really comes across in the game. It's super addictive and we were there for hours... Biased? Maybe, but all this comes from someone who usually hates computer games.

Highly recommended and look out for the guys "freedom is" videos online soon...
