TED x Amy Purdy talk

Intellectual institution TED have recently released a video of a recent talk by snowboarder/artist Amy Purdy.

It sees the Element Eden advocate talk about the power of imagination to move beyond our circumstances, make positive choices and constantly progress.

This heavily references her  own triumph over adversity as when Amy was just 19, she contracted meningitis and subsequently lost both of her legs.

However, she overcame her disability to continue her passion for snowboarding and is currently on of the top ranked adaptive female snowboarders in the world.

She has also co-founded the non-profit organisation Adaptive Action Sports, helping others to overcome their circumstances and get involved with snowboarding, skateboarding and wakeboarding.

Purdy really does live up to the word 'inspirational'.
