The Brits turns 20
The British Snow Championships returns to Laax, Switzerland from 28th March to 4th April to celebrate its second decade.
Established in 1989 at the Sheffield Ski Village, The BRITS has since exploded in size, and descended on 14 alpine resorts across Europe, uniting kids, rookies, pros and Olympians alike.
The Championship action comes courtesy of the Trespass Snowboardcross/Skiercross, Quiksilver Big Air, Animal Slopestyle and SNO!zone Halfpipe. To date 130 British Champions have been crowned, with snowboarders competing for 3-STAR TTR World ranking points.
While deservedly famous for its snow park, Laax offers more than 200km of pisted runs, as well as excellent freeriding. Also, Rocksresort, Laax's brand new resort development will give the BRITS 2009 a modern injection of plush new shops, restaurants and accommodation.
The BRITS is the one time when everybody in the British snowboard scene is in the same place - jamming spectators and competitors into one friendly community, making it an ideal time for unknown riders to network. This year will see more great live bands, acoustic sets, unforgettable parties, and some world-class riding to boot.
