Gathering to save Broadbench
Surfers Against Sewage organise mass paddle out to save UK break.
The Gathering is the first action in a new Surfers Against Sewage (SAS) campaign called Protect Our Waves (POW). The Gathering will be a mass paddle out at Kimmeridge Bay, Dorset at 10am on June 20th to help protect the legendary UK break known as Broadbench.
Broadbench, one of the best waves in Britain, is under threat from the Ministry of Defence who use the area as a firing range. SAS would like to establish a compromise, which gives surfers 100% access to this special area by asking the MoD to revert back to their previous firing range. This way, the MoD will still have full use of the area but Broadbench will be left outside the boundary of the firing range once more.
This is your chance to be part of a solution-based campaign protecting waves, and winning this will set the foundations we need to help protect further waves in the future.
