‘The Hoerengracht’ hits London
Ed and Nancy Kienholz's The Hoerengracht will be displayed at the National Gallery in London from November 18 - February 21.
The controversial display allows visitors to walk through a disturbing replication of Amsterdam's Red Light District complete with glowing windows, mysterious doorways and garish half-naked mannequins.
I would not recommend taking children to view this, unless you would like to traumatise them for life.
The Hoerengracht is one of the last major pieces made by the couple before Ed Kienholz died in 1994 and has been a huge influence on contemporary artists such as Mike Kelly, Paul McCarthy and Damien Hirst.
