Filmmaker Todd Stewart has released this poetic surf short, The Surf Magazines Don't Talk About Lapsed Catholics.
It features a first person perspective of a surfer paddling out in a broody surf accompanied by some philosphical musings over the nature of being a surfer.
Says the narrator: "What they don't tell you, what comes a little later, after you've master the paddling, relaxing and catching the waves, what they don't talk about is the humiliation [...] that you are fooling yourself."
Deeper than the Mariana Trench.
