The Wave protest
Surfers Against Sewage (SAS) need to gather together as many wet-suited surfers as they can in London on December 5 for The Wave, the UK’s biggest climate change march.
The Wave, which is organised by the Stop Climate Chaos Coalition, has been organised ahead of the COP 15 UN Climate Change Conference in Copenhagen next month, and is your chance to show world leaders your support for a low carbon future.
Like everyone, surfers are not immune from climate change. Whether it’s low tide reefs no longer working because of sea level rises or the worsening of water quality because of increased rainfall, it’s obvious that climate change may have a very negative impact on the quality of UK waves.
If you want to take part, bring your wetsuit and your board to the corner of Carlos Place and Grosvenor Square, London W1 at 11am to meet up with the SAS crew - and wear as much blue as possible!
