Tony Hawk à la wax

Skate superstar gets his own waxwork.

Tony Hawk unveiled his waxwork doppelganger in Madame Tussauds, Hollywood yesterday. He now joins that very special club where people like you so much that they make a replica model of you - which sounds kinda creepy in a way!

Check out the picture below, can you guess which one is the real Tony Hawk?

  • I really don't get the point of waxworks. Anytime I go passed Madame Tussauds in London the queues are always round the block. What exactly is the attraction?

  • It's just another incarnation of mindless celebrity worship

  • Dan: I enjoy wax sculpture because it looks incredibly realistic when it's done right... wax has a certain translucent quality that skin has, plus with the proper mix of hair, clothes, and props, a piece could be considered a mixed media installation.
Generally, it's just fun to see how close the sculptors can get to the real thing. Cheers.
