Tubelord custom 7″ sleeves

Tubelord may have been at the back of the queue the day good band names were handed around, but they were first in line for creativity.

Instead of getting a single cover designed for their new 7” single 'Propeller', the band from Kingston (long live The Peel!) have invited 30 upcoming UK artists to create 500 unique covers.

Some are hand-drawn, some are painted, some are fucking mental. All are worthy of being slung up on the mantle-piece as coveted works of art.

The band have also recorded a completely acoustic version of their new album, 'Our First American Friends', due for release October 12 on Hassle Records. Anyone who pre-orders the album will get the acoustic version for free. Simples.

'Propeller' is out on October 28. Until then, you can check out the rest of the shabbedelic designs for the 'Propeller' cover over at the awesomely named Rainboliatric. Clever Boys.

  • What exactly does "up and coming artist" actually mean? I'd say these artists are already "up" and and they're definitely "coming" already. I'd be insulted if I was called "up and coming."

  • Up-and-coming is media lingo for fresh talent. We didn't mean to insult - we're here to showcase and applaud good people doing great things. So apologies, Rick Pickles.

  • Up & Coming seems to suggest that they aren't "here" yet. Perhaps it's a cliche to avoid in the future.

  • We'll be sure to do that, Pickles, in the upcoming future.

  • @Pick Rickles - get over yo'self! Love the designs, thanks for biggin' up the artists Huck.

    PS. Vinyl 4eva!
