Vehicle recycled skateboards
The first skate company to make new decks from old.
Back some time around 2000, Boston legend and ex-Zoo York ripper Robbie Gangemi started Vehicle Skateboards.
I always thought the brand was sick. A good team, solid wood...plus Gangemi is one of the most underrated pros in skateboard history. Dude kills it!
Anyway, it looks like Vehicle is back in business and will be introducing the first ever recycled boards on the market.
The technology was developed by Pop Master Innovations who have this to say about their shred sleds: "[Our] products are extremely environmentally friendly and can be made from an assortment of recycled hard rock maple products and by-products, including used skateboard decks. With our Patent Pending Method, high quality maple can be continuously reused for skateboard manufacturing and other applications.”
Not sure what else the Vehicle squad has in store for the new year, but if innovation like this is already in their back pockets, it may be safe to say that good things are on the way.
